HR Generalist – Poland

Reports to – HR Director, Alight International.

Objective

Key focus will be to provide Employee Relations and admin support in Poland for colleagues in the office and virtually. Working with HR Director on projects related to HR domain, provide expertise to managers on employee relations matters, and a consistent and effective deployment of HR policies. Act as the main HR contact for Poland and Spain, and as the main point of contact for small numbers of colleagues in other countries across Europe and Mexico.

Responsibilities.

Employee Relations

  • Develop a good relationship with managers to help with employee relations simple matters such as Work Improvement Plans, standard separations, conflicts in the team.

  • Liaise closely with the Senior HR manager with more complex matters where possible legal litigation may come up.

  • Act as a main point of contact in Labor code questions

  • Provide simple matrix and analytics to the local leaders.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Provide a source of challenge, advice and coaching to line management colleagues to deliver on going improvements in organizational effectiveness and to achieve desired cultural change.

  • Drive a high-performance culture by challenging management teams to appropriately apply a breadth of performance and development principles and tools and taking ownership of performance of teams.

Business Change

  • Provide the necessary HR support for business unit changes, taking into account people implications from the business unit context e.g. restructuring activities.

  • Navigate managers and colleagues through changes impacting their work such as changes to processes, HR tools etc.

HR Service Delivery

  • Ensure the operational fulfilment of core HR services meets business needs.

  • Work effectively with other appropriate parts of the HR function to achieve this (i.e. Reward, Recruitment, Training and Development, Global People Operations).

Policy and Process

  • Contribute and takes responsibility for the shaping of new HR policies and procedures and ensure these are implemented within their business unit.

Ensure business unit acts in accordance with the appropriate employment legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Flexible, adaptable and customer focused, able to build relationships quickly at all levels and thrive in an environment of constant change.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate by written and verbal means at all levels within the organization.

  • Able to diplomatically influence at a senior level as an articulate and effective communicator.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a good team player

  • Hands-on and pro-active approach and ability to work without strict guidance.

  • Ability to balance company and employee needs, handle confidential information and stressful situations with tact and sensitivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is a minimum.

  • At least 3 years hands-on experience in various aspects of the HR functions or administration. Legal expertise is an advantage.

  • A good understanding of employee relations and total rewards is needed.

  • Very good knowledge of HR practices and principles, including labor law (Poland), payroll issues, benefits, and employment regulations.

  • Fluency in Polish and English is required.
