This is a full – time, day shift position. The hours of work are generally Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Days of work and hours can vary due to assigned cases. Alternate work sites will also be considered. If the alternate work site is approved, the employee will be required to complete a telework agreement.

The Clinical Program Therapist 3 (CPT 3) provides services and requires frequent travel throughout the state of Minnesota. When a State-owned vehicle is not available and an employee is required to use their personal automobile to conduct authorized State business, the employee will be reimbursed at the current Federal IRS mileage reimbursement rate. In addition to travel throughout Minnesota, the CPT 3 will have the opportunity to help children, adolescents and their families live better lives, work with a variety of community providers, and work with a great Child Adolescent Services support team.

The Clinical Program Therapist 3 (CPT3) provides assessment, clinical consultation, person-centered support recommendations, and training for children and adolescents/youth with complex behavioral and mental health challenges and individuals’ community support networks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with or complete functional behavior assessments, person centered discovery tools, etc., as necessary and to develop and implement behavior support plans to assist team’s ability to manage difficult behavioral and system issues, and to increase the stability of the individual’s community living and divert moves to less integrated settings whenever safely possible.

  • Provides technical / instructional assistance to enhance skills of CAS staff and foster parents to meet the complex needs of individuals supported.

  • Serve as role model to all CAS staff and members of individuals’ teams and model plan activities as necessary to facilitate implementation of support recommendations.

  • Participates as a clinical team member for assigned treatment teams, and in individuals’ care review meetings and CAS staff meetings.

  • Works collaboratively with individuals and support networks and clinical team members, and functions with expertise in behavioral assessment and interventions and with consultation as needed from colleagues with complementary expertise; the CPT3 integrates multidisciplinary expertise to facilitate positive outcomes for focus individuals.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 4 of the 6 activities listed below

· Delivering psychoeducation

· Providing case coordination among multidisciplinary team members

· Conducting comprehensive assessments

· Leading development of treatment/support plans as required by program licensure

· Planning discharge/transition and/or aftercare

· Developing behavioral interventions and recommendations for interdisciplinary staff implementation

  • 1 year of relevant experience requirement may be substituted by a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or behavior analysis; the experience requirement also may be substituted by a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related behavioral health field that includes substantial behavioral health coursework such as individual or group counseling, clinical interviewing, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, or similar behavioral health courses

  • 1 ½ years of relevant experience requirement may be substituted by a master’s degree in any of the degrees listed above.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, social work, counseling or related behavioral or social science program.

  • Licensure or certification in relevant field of expertise (e.g., BCBA, NADD-CC, LICSW, LP, LSW, LPCC, etc.)—or eligibility for licensure or certification.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to facilitate effective communication, case documentation, and data collection and analysis.

Experience:

  • Providing direct support services.

  • Working with and being part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Using Person-Centered Tools.

Knowledge of:

  • Behavioral health and disability services and support resources.

  • Social service funding, case management, and rules/laws governing services to persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities, mental illnesses, brain injury, and/or substance use disorders.

  • Working knowledge of licensing requirements and billing processes related to Home and Community-Based Services waivered services.

  • Creative presentation skills and public speaking skills to effectively train adult learners.
