What’s the Job?

The position of the Housekeeping Manager – Colleague Village is dedicated to exceeding expectations of both internal and external guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personal experience. Your focus will be to provide service to the colleagues in a timely and sophisticated fashion. In principle, the function will be threefold, overseeing the preparation of staff rooms, Palm Wing and public areas throughout the day. You are responsible for the smooth execution of arrivals and departures within the Colleague Village while offering continued support to the room attendants and public areas attendants within the Colleague Village. They will be an important part of the team, working towards the common goal of exceeding the expectations of all colleagues and guests who live or visit the island.

Your day-to-day

· Be responsible for the operational efficiency of all housekeeping areas within the Colleague Village and Palm Wing, servicing delivery to those areas within the budgeted guidelines.

· Oversee the cleanliness and appearance of public areas in the Village, including laundries, common spaces, public toilets and back of-house areas. Maintain a standard of cleanliness of all operating equipment within these areas.

· Perform regular inspections of the Village grounds identifying any potential hazards on Colleague balcony’s or in courtyards.

· You will be responsible for generating rosters for all staff that report to you up to 4 weeks in advance and flex to maintain your S&W budget.

· Maintain and improve Palm Wing room, keeping a high standard of room cleanliness while continuing to increase the levels of comfort in the rooms.

· HUB and report all issues relevant to rooms and Village public areas and follow up on all maintenance issues reported to the Village with a 100% resolution rate.

· Greet all staff enquiries and complaints in a caring and courteous manner and ensure that all complaints are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.

· Ensure all Village rooms inventory and product is aligned with operational needs and ordered according to future needs within the allocated budget.

· Assist the Village Operations team with coordinating room moves and colleague room allocations.

· Actively report workplace hazards, injuries and accidents arising from workplace activities, providing recommendations for corrective actions to prevent or minimise the chance of recurrence. about recovery should you be injured in the undertaking of your

· Perform quarterly Health & Hygiene Inspections on all Colleagues living in the Hayman Village

· Oversee all room attendants to ensure checklists are carried out.

· Maintain 2 staff laundries in the Village ensuring any mechanical issues are placed in HARDCAT and followed up for resolution.

· General duties as outlined by the Operations Manager.

· Looking for ways to increase revenue such as pushing products with a greater profit margin.

· Assist colleagues as required. · Coach, counsel and discipline staff in breach of hotel policies and departmental procedure, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.

· Assign tasks, setting clear specific performance expectations, objectives, standards and accountability.

· Maintain an up-to-date database of rooms inventory specific to each room type in the Village.

· Coordinate with the Engineering Department to ensure regular preventative maintenance is performed on Village rooms as well as up to date pest control.

What we need from you

· Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to

· Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities, so every guest leaves with great memories.

· Fluency in English - extra language skills would be great, but not essential.

· Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, Smartsheet’s, basic maths and computers

· Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job. · Experience - ideally, you’ll have spent at least 2 years in a Housekeeping Supervisor role in a resort style venue.

· Strength - sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.
