Robert Half PC Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PC Technician to join our IT team. The PC Technician will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining computer systems and peripherals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer hardware and software, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.

  • Install and configure software applications, operating systems, and updates.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, diagnosing and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.

  • Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed.

  • Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.

  • Set up and maintain network connections, including wired and wireless networks.

  • Ensure security measures are in place to protect systems and data.

  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to resolve complex issues and improve processes.

  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and best practices in the field.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical certifications or relevant coursework in computer science or information technology are preferred.

Work Environment:

The PC Technician will primarily work in an office environment but may also need to travel to different locations to provide on-site support. The role may require occasional work outside of regular business hours to perform maintenance or resolve critical issues.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a PC Technician or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals.

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and/or macOS operating systems.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.

  • Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment when necessary.
