The Payroll Specialist will be part of a team that handles day-to-day operations and ensures the accurate and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for approximately 2,000 commission, hourly and salaried team members.

Compensation: $20 - $24 / hour

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Process multi-state payroll on a weekly basis

  • Maintain records for Direct Deposits, W4 Changes and New Hires

  • Conduct payroll audits

  • Proactively research errors and assist with procedures to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Respond to team member inquiries in a timely and effective manner.

  • Maintain electronic file feed information with payroll vendors.

  • Assist with special projects and other various Human Resources duties as needed under the supervision of the Payroll Manager

  • Maintains confidentiality and uses the utmost discretion with matters including but not limited to personal and or financial information in the duties of the position.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education/Certification(s):

  • Associate degree or higher in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)

Required Experience:

  • 1+ years of proven end to end payroll experience

  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices

  • Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to perform mathematical calculations, including the knowledge and application of gross-to-net payroll calculations.

  • Ability to be flexible in your schedule

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering accurate and timely results.

  • Effective verbal, written communication, and active listening skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal team members, business stakeholders and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

  • Ability to apply sound judgement and discretion in performing duties while interpreting company policies with audit controls.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.

Preferred:

  • UKG/SAP experience

  • Prior multi-state payroll experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. Must have demonstrated experience with VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLES and other general formulas.
